1.  Voyageurs were very important to the fur trade. They were men who travelled on rivers delivering supplies to the fur trading forts and picking up furs to take back to their headquarters. They also were hired to guide explorers through the unknown lands in that region.

 Think about all the things you have learned about the life of a voyageur. Choose one of the activities from below.

 A.      Pretend that you are a voyageur. Write three journal entries about your life as a voyageur. These journal entries can be completed in paper and pencil format or on a Word Document. You may include the following ideas:

  •  record of daily events 
  •  detailed descriptions of the environment 
  •  fur trading business 
  •  friends and family 
  •  other voyageurs you travelled with
