Why search the web when everything you need is at your fingertips? The Awesome Library - Another excellent resource offering 14,000 educationally viable Web pages, all screened using stringent criteria. Refdesk.com - A huge assortment of reference material gleaned from newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias, and more than 260 search engines. FindArticles.com - A site that searches over 300 magazines by category to find articles matching the search topics. A handy way to find shorter, focused materials. Encyclopædia Britannica -Is now available in its entirety on the Web. The site also allows users to search Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and to browse by clicking on such topics such as News, Sports, and Weather. Infoplease Encyclopedia - Includes almanacs, a dictionary, and an atlas. Columbia Encyclopedia - Offers a large collection of other reference materials as well: a thesaurus, a dictionary, several collections of quotations, and several volumes about English usage. Encyclopedia.com - Encyclopedia.com boasts more than 50,000 articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia and it's free! Encarta Reference - Is subsection of the larger Microsoft Encarta. The Reference section includes a talking dictionary and a world atlas in addition to an abridged version of the Microsoft Encarta encyclopedia available on CD-ROM. Whatis.com - This encyclopedia, dedicated to the information technology industry, contains definitions about computers, the Internet, software, and hardware.
