This presentation discusses the hardships that the pioneers faced and illustrates how difficult and short their lives often were. Content and images provided by Meewasin Valley Centre. Home Sweet Home: This 14 minute presentation explores the homes of the early 1900s and looks at the evolution of the prairie home from soddy to shack. Good Times: A Survey of Saskatchewan Games and Sports
This 13 minute presentation reviews sports and games of the early 1900's. Students will understand the importance of social activities in early prairie life and will learn the origin of various activities as well. Content and images provided by the Saskatchewan Western Development Museum. There is also a Crossword and Word search based on this movie.

Pioneer Families, Schooling and Recreation - This 15 minute movie discusses life and roles in pioneer families, pioneer schooling and early modes of transportation, and the importance of recreation and social connections during pioneer times.
Communities- This 10 minute movie discusses how pioneer communities changed over time to meet the needs of the people who lived in them. It also discusses how the influx of people brought new services to communtities, making them more attractive to future residents. The impact of technology on the changes in a community are also presented.
Immigration and Settlement - This 30 minute movie discusses the various reasons why people immigrated to Canada and on to Saskatchewan. The presentation contains many excerpts from "real" immigration stories published on the Pier21.ca website.
