In this alternate activity, you use the script that you created in Task Three of Mining Mass Media, and then complete the shooting and editing steps in two lessons: Constructing a Story and Shooting and Editing Tape. If you have little time to shoot a new story or wish to focus on adaptation, the shift activity allows you to work quickly through the objectives. Steps for creation:
- Read over the story you created in Task Three of Mining Mass Media.
- Edit your story and tighten it up.
- Remember you can use the interview footage from the CBC clips as the interview portion, but the story must have a different slant than the CBC story. You are re-inventing the story, not re-telling the story.
You will be able to use this story for the rest of the lessons on creating and filming a television news story: |
