Teachers and Students
Find Resources

This site was created for use by both teachers and students. Student pages may be accessed sequentially through the module buttons (like Print Journalism) on the left.

On the student pages, there is a link near the top for the corresponding teacher lesson. Alternatively, teacher lessons may be accessed through the Objectives page , where each lesson is linked to corresponding curricular objectives.

All pages may also be accessed through the site map. See the Navigation page for more about navigating the site.

The resources available in Journalism Studies 20 were first created in 2005. They are the property of Saskatchewan Learning, the Saskatoon Public School Division and the Meadow Lake School Division.

The resources may be copied or used in parts or in their entirety. Teachers are encouraged to download and modify these resources as they see fit. This site may be linked to without permission. The authors would appreciate acknowledgement when the resources are used.

Images from this site were used with permission from clipart.com unless otherwise specified.

This site includes complete lessons created for Saskatchewan Learning's Journalism Studies 20 Curriculum. The web pages feature activities for each objective, great links and interactive games. Module Three has a variety of great student driven projects including an e-zine, a photojournalism portfolio, a student newspaper and more! One of the highlights is a cyclical project called My Way that replaces the final exam.

Just for Teachers

If you plan to use this resource with a class, view the For Teachers page to find information on tips you will need. There are useful explanations on issues from finding lessons with the same objective to file formats. Teachers may also be interested in the information on Unit Planning or Learning Objects.

Integrating Technology

The Integrating Technology section includes information on how to integrate technology to increase student technological capacity and opportunity.

This site was created by Rene Cannon (Meadow Lake School Division) and Wendy James (Saskatoon Public School Division).

Other Contributors to the Site

Funding for the creation of this site was provided by the Educational Technology Consortium. Technical and Instructional support was provided by the Learning Technology Unit and the Curriculum and Instruction Branch. Both groups are a part of Saskatchewan Learning.
