Introduction:
Investigative journalists don’t just sift through and report the news, they are also detectives. An investigative journalist raises the public profile of a problem, and makes the facts clear to the public. In a sense, creating an investigative journalism piece is like creating an informed editorial. The journalist has a very high standard of proof, and although she draws conclusions, does so in the way a judge would – after examining all side with a fine-tooth comb.
For this project, you and your partners will choose, research and create an investigative journalism piece. The piece must be a min. of 40 minutes and be created in the form of an investigative television show. Members of the group will be responsible for different parts of the project.
