The Process
1. First you will be assigned to a team of six
students.
2. Once you have chosen a role to play, you will begin your individual
research. Below is a list of the roles to be fulfilled
by each
group followed by a description of the job that accompanies
the role.
3. Each group will design a heraldic shield to be displayed at their
booth during the Medieval street fair.
4. Each group will design and prepare a booth for the street fair.

Knight
In this role you will be responsible for providing a profile of a knight.
What must a person do to become a knight?
What duties does a knight perform?

Monk
In this role you will be responsible for providing a profile of a monk.
What abbey or monastery are you from and what is your religious order?
How do you spend your day?
What are your other responsibilities?

Bard
In this role you will be responsible for entertaining the crowds that come
to
your booth.
What were the typical types of entertainment during the Middle Ages?
What entertainment will you prepare to share?

Mason-Architect
In this role you will be responsible for researching medieval architecture.
What were the building methods of the day?
What construction tools were used?
How was a castle or a cathedral constructed?

Cook
In this role you will be responsible for researching medieval foods.
What foods were available during this time period?
How was food prepared?
What dish will you be sharing with the audience? (Include the recipe.)

Historian
In this role you will be responsible for researching the history of the
Middle Ages.
What important events took place in your kingdom?
How will you share your story with the audience at the fair?
