1. Explain the term Specific Claim as it applies to First Nations people in Saskatchewan. Give an example.

2. What does the term Treaty Land Entitlement mean? Illustrate by using a Saskatchewan example.

3. The term shortfall is used when talking about treaty land entitlement in Saskatchewan. Explain the meaning of the term and give an example.

4. Using an example from anywhere in Canada, explain the difference between a Specific Claim and T.L.E.

5. A shortfall formula has been established in Saskatchewan. Using a specific example explain how the formula would work, for a Saskatchewan band.

6. The Office of the Treaty Commissioner has played a major role in settlement of T.L.E. claims in Saskatchewan. What is the mandate of the O.T.C.?

7. Given that many bands in Saskatchewan will receive Treaty Land Entitlement payments what types of land can be bought? Discuss three types.

8. Many First nations bands in Saskatchewan have received T.L.E. payments.

a) List three of these bands.
b) There will be money left over after the shortfall of land is purchased. In a paragraph or more write a letter to the chief and council explaining where you think the money should be spent.
