Safe & Caring Schools

  • Saskatchewan Learning's Caring and Respectful Schools - Bullying Prevention Program Resources
  • Safe and Caring Schools - Lots of resources available on the topic of safe and caring schools. As part of Alberta's Strategy for the Prevention of Bullying, Children's Services and Education have developed four fact sheets, with tips on how to recognize bullying behavior and how to stop it. Fact sheets are available in English and French. Please visit the site to have a look at the information and resources.
  • Embracing Diversity: Toolkit for Creating Inclusive, Learning-Friendly Environments. This toolkit contains six Booklets, each of which contains tools and activities for self-study to start creating an inclusive, learning-friendly environment (ILFE). Some of these activities ask reader to reflect on what his/her school are doing now in terms of creating on ILFE, while others actively guide reader in improving his/her skills as a teacher in a diverse classroom
  • Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities - This Web site offers information and resources on character education and bullying and violence prevention, as well as conflict management and respecting diversity. The site includes information about and samples from the Toward a Safe and Caring Curriculum. It also includes the Supporting a Safe and Caring School: What Students surveys designed to assess students’ perceptions of school climate, as well as directions for administering and scoring the survey.
  • Safe and Caring School Initiatives - Manitoba Education K-12 - This page provides a variety of print documents for families, communities and schools related to safe and caring schools. All resources are also available online. Also, please look at the websites and resources for various audiences (parents, youths, teachers, etc)
