Every person who is a bystander, needs to make a committment to never stand by and just laugh. Your group has the most POWER to STOP BULLYING.

INTERACTIVE WEBSITES

  • Team Heroes - Join the S-Team Heroes to STOP BULLYING. Bullying facts and solutions are wound into the episodes in which students decide what is the best way to deal with the situations. (Requires Flash Player). Great site to send home in a newsletter for students to play at home.

DEBATING

  • The Daily Dilema - Get your students involved in Ethical Dilemmas for Classroom Discussion - There is an archive of dilemas students could role play and solve during your study of Character Education.


LANGUAGE ARTS

  • Four O'Clock Friday - Poetry - Using poetry, raise awareness of the effects of bullying in school on an individual’s happiness and self esteem and to arrive at possible strategies for dealing with incidents of bullying.
  • Using Literature to teach About Bullying (K-8) - Use literature to teach students to recognize the different types of bullying, their causes, and ways of dealing with them.
  • POSITIVE PAPER - News often highlights the negative and most depressing events. Flip that concept and have your students create a school-wide Positive Paper. Assign your students the task of interviewing others in the school about something positive that has happened, or focus on example of good character or anti-bullying that is going on in the school.
