This resource has been written for two primary purposes. You can choose to use activities without any further refinement, or you can choose to use the activities as a starting place for your own ideas. However, you will need to develop these lessons to meet the need of you particular students. Check the section on the Adaptive Dimension if you need suggestions for adapations.
No suggestions have been made regarding how to provide an actual mark for each lesson. You will need to determine where you feel the emphasis should be placed. Each lesson includes questions for the students to complete to help them develop the skills they will need for the culminating activity. Each lesson also includes a reflective journal. As the teaching professional who is teaching this course to a specific group of students, only you can determine how to balance the activities and assignments in this material.
This resource contains six modules, however all the objectives in the ELA A30 curriculum have been covered in Modules One to Five. Module Six could therefore be considered an optional unit to be used if time allows, or if you feel your students would benefit from an open module such as this one.
PLEASE NOTE - This resources was modified by saskatoon Public Schools in March 2007. we attempted to remove all references to any COMCENTRE tools so that regular teachers could use one or two units or entire modules to meet their teaching needs without needing to have scripts installed on servers.
Some resources were missing or incomplete. Therefore, some lessons require some prep work by the teacher. These are indicated by a * beside the lesson number on the site map.
