The Process

To accomplish the task, EACH of you will need to:

  1. Be assigned to a team of no more than 4 students
  2. Choose a role based on each individual's skills and interests
  3. Work together on finding an ad for a product or a type of product
  4. Work together to record jot notes for the group's research
  5. Contribute to the final product by finding, editing, or creating artwork, as well as writing an article(s) about the product(s)
  6. Meet deadlines and hand work in to the editor

A NOTE ABOUT GROUP ROLES: *all group members will research, write jot notes, write good copies of information to elaborate on the campaign, and contribute to the artistic layout of the project.  In addition, each group member is to oversee an area of specialty -

  1. Editor: collect all work from group members; read over all articles checking for spelling and grammar
  2. Artist: oversee the layout of the ad; cut and paste all pictures and designing text headlines or titles; ensure that the project is neat and easy to read
  3. Writer: compile all jot notes from team; compile written materials from team members into article format
  4. Researcher: find and organize resources; record references; make resources page including web links and all materials used in the project

Rough work should be submitted with the good copy.

The project will be either a digital set of pictures and articles or a paper copy (such as a shortened newspaper or magazine).

The teacher will give direction as to the length of articles and the number of jot notes for the research and the due dates for those components.

The editor needs the cooperation of the whole group to get all the parts submitted in time to compile and make any changes.  Any one person can cause the group's project to fall behind.  Recognize that working together is not easy and each member needs to pull together for the group.  The group evaluation form is one way of giving other members feedback about their contributions.
