Introduction

You've all been told that the Earth is a sphere, but this is not something your day-to-day experience can easily confirm. Looking outside,you see buildings, trees, maybe some hills or valleys... very little evidence that the Earth's surface is curved. Even when you're at the shore of a large lake or the ocean, the water near the horizon appears quite flat. How then do you know that the Earth is round?

Recently, members of the Flat Earth Society have been reviving and re-publicizing their theories that the earth is not round and is indeed flat.  They are publicly denouncing the work of all the scientists who previously have worked hard at proving the earth is spherical in shape.

You are in charge of a crack investigative team of science detectives hired to prove to the public once and for all that the earth is a sphere.

How will you convince them?  What will be your strategy?  The correct answer to the question is of utmost importance to everyone.
