Treaty Six and You

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what life in Saskatoon would be like if treaties had never been concluded with First Nation peoples?

How would life for you, your family, and your community be different?

In order to understand the present we must first travel back to the time of the treaties to find out their origins and contents.  Then we must return to the present to see how their loss would affect you and your community.  The Treaty Commissioner is keenly interested in your discoveries and looks forward to your final report.

Goals

To use the power of the internet for exploration of Saskatchewan treaties, resources, and First Nation peoples.

To understand and appreciate how the treaties affect all of us, individually and collectively.

To gain an appreciation of Treaty Six as a founding document for the nation of Canada.

To gain insight into how the lives of Saskatoon residents could have been different had Treaty Six not been concluded with First Nation peoples and the Dominion of Canada.
