INTERACTIVE MOVIES - CAPACITY / MASS / TIME

These resources require the plug in Flash Player 6 for viewing. Some of these movies may require you to interact (i.e. answer a question, click a button, drag and drop and item) with the content as the movie is played. These movies were designed to give you an overall introduction to particular topics of mathematical study. Many of these movies have sound associated with them so you will need to make sure the volume is turned up on your computer.

  • Conversions: An Introduction to the Metric System - This mini-presentation discusses the Metric System 's advantages and prefixes. Students will realize that the prefixes can assist them in converting measurements from one unit of measure to another. (No audio)
  • Capacity-Mass-Time Overview: This movie discusses the base units for measurement, relationships, and provides a brief history of time.
  • Measures - This site has a flash-based introduction to measurement, activities, test and fact sheet. This activity covers capacity, time, and mass. Please be patient while loading. Great introduction activity.
