PRINTABLE LEARNING ACTIVITIES: AREA

What is a Printable Learning Activity?
Printable Learning Activities are activities that can be downloaded from the internet to your own computer for printing. These activities are aimed at helping students learn particular math concepts AWAY from the computer. These activities may include math centres, practice sheets, or major projects that focus on covering particular math objectives.

These files are available to you in both the WORD (.doc) and PDF format so that you can take the printable activity as is (PDF) or take it in a form that you can easily modify (DOC)to suit your own needs.

Discovering Formulas:(GM 62)This activity asks students to determine a short cut (formula) for determining the area of a square or rectangle.
Discovering the Area of a Parallelogram:(GM 64) In this activity, you understand that you could just count the grid squares inside the parallelogram to determine the area, but you need to discover a general way to find the area for all parallelograms.
