PRINTABLE LEARNING ACTIVITIES: VOLUME

What is a Printable Learning Activity?
Printable Learning Activities are activities that can be downloaded from the internet to your own computer for printing. These activities are aimed at helping students learn particular math concepts AWAY from the computer. These activities may include math centres, practice sheets, or major projects that focus on covering particular math objectives.

These files are available to you in both the WORD (.doc) and PDF format so that you can take the printable activity as is (PDF) or take it in a form that you can easily modify (DOC)to suit your own needs.

Displacement Activity (GM 76): This activity encourages students to explore the relationship between displacement and volume.
Exploring Volume (GM 73, GM 75, GM 77): The objective of this activity is explore volume. You will explore what happens to the volume of an object when one dimension is changed, you will estimate, compare and calculate volume of objects.
Volume: Students must design containers and determine the most cost-effective ones to reproduce. Students examine the relationship between volume, surface area, height and radius of a cylinder.
Changing Dimensions: In this activity students learn what happens to the volume of a solid if one or more of its dimensions are changed.
