Introduction
This lesson was developed as part of the Saskatoon Public School Division's Accounting
30 Resource Development Project.
This webquest is designed to involve the students in compiling information
about the Professional Accounting Organizations, their acronyms, the education
required and the jobs available. Once
the research has been completed, a class presentation
will give
the students opportunity to share what they have learned.

This lesson is anchored in Module 3A of the Accounting 30 curriculum.

3.5 To recall the professional accounting designations and relate them specifically
to management accounting.

Process
- First you'll be assigned to a team and an acronym.
- Split the team into the 2 jobs and assign tasks according to the chart
below. Depending on the number of students in your group, there may be more
than one person to a job.
- After the research and information has been compiled, your team is to
create a presentation according to the teacher's instructions. This presentation
might be a digital presentation using powerpoint or it might be an oral presentation
with visual aids.

Now it is time to find a job.
Your 'Assignment' is to find 5 job advertisements that you have the
qualifications to. Fill out the Job Form for each of
the 5 advertisements you find.

Teams - the class will need to be split into 7 teams (minimum
2 students per team).
Presentation - There are several formats the presentation
can take on.
- Oral Presentation with Display - each of the teams will create a display of
their material and give a brief, 5 minute oral presentation about their acronym.
- Digital Presentation - each team will create a presentation using powerpoint,
webpages, etc, that will allow them to present the material to the rest of
the class.
Time Frame
- introduce the webquest - 1/2 class
- research - 1 1/2 classes
- presentation - varies depending on format chosen - approximately 1 1/2
classes

- Reference Material available from Guidance Office or Counselor's Office
Evaluation
Your project/presentation will be evaluated as a group project. The following
rubric is included to help clarify what will be looked for in the evaluation
of your project.
