Introduction

CMA, CGA, CA, CFA, CIM, CMC, PMP, . . .

Acronyms! What do they stand for? Do they even have anything to do with accounting? Yes, they do! If you are like many others, you believe that acronyms were put on this earth to confuse you. Well, worry no more!


Task

Your team will pick an acronym and complete the following tasks.

  • define the acronym;
  • fulfill the requirements of the roles as stated in the Process section of this webquest;
  • create a presentation;
  • self evaluation;
  • group evaluation.

The final product will be a presentation.


Process

  1. First you'll be assigned to a team and an acronym.
  2. Split the team into the 2 jobs and assign tasks according to the chart below. Depending on the number of students in your group, there may be more than one person to a job.
  3. After the research and information has been compiled, your team is to create a presentation according to the teacher's instructions. This presentation might be a digital presentation using powerpoint or it might be an oral presentation with visual aids.

You have successfully completed your education and you now have a degree in XXX (put acronym here). Now it is time to find a job.

Your 'Assignment' is to find 5 job advertisements that you have the qualifications to. Fill out the Job Form for each of the 5 advertisements you find.
