We'll skip the traditional "Hello World" program because this is after all a 30 level class and you should have some experience in a programming language already.
Finally...Start up the Visual Studio program by double clicking on the Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 icon which was placed on your desktop when the program was installed.
If you are using VB.NET 2005 the icon looks like this: and is located in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe
if you accepted the default file locations when installing the software.
If you are using the VB.NET 2008 Express edition the icon looks like this: and is located in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\vbexpress.exe
Use this path and icon to create a shortcut for your desktop and to pin to the start menu. The shortcut would best be renamed VB.NET.
