Maplewood Web App for Elementary Schools

Beginning in August 2008 the paper attendance registers will be replaced by an on-line attendance system. Advantages of this system are:

  • Homeroom teachers and office staff can more easily share information about attendance. Homeroom teachers should have easy access to the reason for a student’s absence received from parents and entered by the office staff.
  • The paper attendance registers do not have to be moved back and forth between the main office and the homeroom.
  • The list of students in the homeroom should always be up to date.
  • Homeroom teachers have easy access to student data including: address, phone numbers, parent names, parent employers, parent email addresses, emergency and medical notes, note pads, detailed attendance data, attendance notes and summary attendance data.
  • Substitute teachers may take attendance using a seating plan with student pictures.
