Climb a mountain? Sail around the world? Journey to the Arctic? Fly to the distant planets? These and other adventures are possible in a world of challenges and achievements. We can overcome our fears and find the courage, determination, and commitment to try something new and to embark on our own adventures.

In this unit, we will see how adventrues challenge others and us. We will see how they test our strength and convictions, allow us to follow our dreams, and motivate us to achieve our goals. What kind of adventure do you want?

• Dr Livingstone, I presume? - An integrated English/Social Studies unit. Students identify the experiences and challenges that people face as they explore and find out about new places. They are encouraged to explain why and how explorers have undertaken journeys.
