Description (from Crossroads Series)

Becoming an adolescent means entering a time of exploration, growth and continual change. Adolescents' view of themselves and the world, and the relationship beteween the two, is challenged daily by their own needs and the demands of new roles. It is a time when peers become the primary influence in their lives. Their sense of self is characterized by swings between confidence and self-doubt, seriousness and hilarity, love and hate.

In my Mirror reflects the primary interests of the age group: self and others, and their interrelationships. This is a unit the explores ideas and issues that matter to students. They will be able to look into themselves and share who they are at the same time as they learn about and make connections to others. They will have the opportunity to read and reflect on short stories, various poetic forms, comic strips, and articles.
