Grade 8 Suggested Topics
The
table below outlines themes and topics that may be used to address the objectives
in the six strands of Grade 8 ELA. This list has been provided by Sask. Learning
to support teachers in their planning using currently recommended student
resources. Teachers should contact their teacher librarian or the Curriculum
Materials Centre to determine the availability of collections kits, multi-source
kits, and anthologies, on many of the topics listed on the right.
Sask.Learning's expectations are thtat a minimum of six units be taught per year. Five of these topics/units must be as follows:
Finally,teachers are encouraged to continue to develop and plan their own themes and topics using other quality resources that address the goals and objecives of the curriculum.
