Getting
Ready For The Olympics - The Olympic
Games create a wonderful opportunity to teach our students in unique
and interesting ways. Get ready for Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver, BC, Feb. 12th to 28th.

January Resources - Winter's snow
and chilly temperatures offer a teachable moment that should not be
missed. The lessons and resources on this page are meant to help all
educators bring the wonder of winter into their classrooms!
- Consider using
a digital projector to project the multimedia items for entire class
viewing (Flash movies, interactive tours, graphing activities, etc).
- Many of the
sites have printable resources for students and teacher facilitated
lesson plans.

– The search results are presented in a table organized by

- Wordle
- A free website that creates "word clouds" or "tag clouds". Simply
copy/paste text and in seconds Wordle gives you a visual representation
of word frequency.
- Wallwisher - An online noticeboard
maker where a group of people can easily communicate with each other
by sticking virtual notes. These notes can have text, images or
include online videos such as from YouTube. It's basically an electronic
wall upon where students and teachers can share questions, notes
and ideas.
- Web 2.0: Cool Tools for

dynamic mathematics software for learning and teaching. Check out

- Remember poetry fridge magnets? Try it online with pictures. Drag
and drop the images and the words or you can go ‘freestyle’

a blog, etc.
