What Is Online Learning?
In terms of taking a full course online, it simply means that the instruction occurs when the learner and the instructor are not in the same place. For younger students participating in online activities and lessons, the teacher may be in the room but the students are learning content via the internet through a web-based activity or assignment.

For online courses, the instruction is delivered through the Internet, email, special Web-based communication software that allows for asynchronous and scheduled synchronous discussions, and the telephone.

Is Online Learning for my child? Take this quiz with your child to find out more.

Will my child get the same credit for an online course as she/he would get sitting in a traditional classroom?
Yes. The credit is the same, because you are required to achieve the same learning outcomes. The assignments and performance standards are the same as a face-to-face offering. The only difference is in the method of delivery.

How can I help my child be successful in their online course?
